Rusty Saylor - Chief Executive Officer
Roger (“Rusty”) Saylor was an Investment Banker for over 20 years where he built market leading groups at three financial institutions. For over a decade, Mr. Saylor was the Managing Director and Head of the Education Finance Group in Citigroup’s Global Securitized Markets where he had credit authority for up to $18 billion of annual financing. His market leading team structured and assisted over 25 Student Loan Companies with greater than $50 billion of permanent financings across all capital markets sources.
Prior to joining CMAX as CEO, Mr. Saylor served a four-year engagement as the Chairman of the Board and interim CEO for InterviewStream, Inc., the premier Video Interviewing Company to the hiring industry. Mr. Saylor provided the valuation analysis and structured the acquisition for a large non-profit corporation. Subsequent to the acquisition, he instituted a complete re-write and updating of the program system code and completely restructured both the strategic focus of the Company and the management team. These efforts brought the company to profitability within 18 months of the effective implementation of the new strategic plan
Mr. Saylor has provided “expert testimony” in over 20 FINRA arbitration hearings related to Debt-Capital Markets operations and Valuation analysis. He has also provided quarterly valuation confirmations in conjunction with certain SEC actions.
Mr. Saylor has an MBA from the Darden School of the University of Virginia, a MM with honors from the University of Southern California and is an Honors College graduate of Davidson College. He was also a Hesse Scholar for advanced postgraduate study in Great Britain.
JD Sheldon - Chief Financial Officer
JD joins CMAX Finance following his role as CFO with a Real Estate and Collection law firm Dynia & Associates, LLC. At Dynia & Associates, JD managed financial aspects of the 80 employee firm. He and his team implemented policies and procedures for the collection division to ensure their Accounting team met all legal and contractual requirements of their clients. Specifically, compliance standards required by debt issuers, FDCPA, and the CFPB.
Prior to joining Dynia & Associates, JD spent 5 years working with the Accounting/Finance team for the country’s 3rd largest debt purchaser Equable Ascent Financial (EAF) and subsidiary collection arm Apex Financial. He managed the Payment Processing team, was responsible for the budgeting process for Apex and reporting the financials to the EAF executive team. He also led the EAF/Apex commercial valuation and recovery process; as well he assisted EAF’s Accounting/Finance team with Sarbanes Oxley compliance, Impairment analysis, and Treasury Management.
Prior to EAF/Apex, JD was an auditor for 5 years with Broniec & Associates. Broniec specialized in recovery auditing; JD was the audit manager for clients like United Airlines, John Deere, and AEGON USA.
David Paris - Chief Marketing Officer
Beginning his career as Vice President of Retail Collections at Great Lakes Collection Bureau in 1991, in 1995 he was part of the start-up team responsible for the creation of Receivable Services of America. In 1997 he and his partners formed Zenith Acquisition Corp and he served as its CEO for 15 years overseeing its growth from start-up to a leader in the Debt Buying Industry. Zenith bought over 9 billion in assets through 300 transactions from most major lenders until 2012. Additionally he kept Zenith on the forefront of compliance and customer service. He was a member of the board of Directors for RMA International where he has severed for 9 years, three years as Chairman of the State Legislative Committee a year as Secretary and a year as President Elect. David is Chief Marketing Officer of CMAX Finance LLC, a specialty finance company that focuses on the distressed asset markets. He holds a BFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Ed Forbes - Senior Vice President Marketing
Edward S. Forbes is a highly-respected ARM industry professional with over 25 years’ experience. He has held management positions with a wide range of companies including JPMorgan Chase, Fleet Card Services and Advanta Corporation.
His broad range of experience includes collection management, agency auditing, recovery management, debt sales and portfolio financing. In 2008 Mr. Forbes Founded Stirling Capital Management LLC, a leading ARM industry consulting and brokerage firm. Previously Mr. Forbes was a VP and co-founder of Creditmax LLC, where he was responsible for managing both the sales & business development.
Edward earned his BA from La Salle University and an Executive Business Certificate from the University of Notre Dame.
Jason Roe - Director of IT
Jason has been with CMAX Finance since 2013. Formerly of Harris & Harris Ltd where he worked with both IT and Operations teams in systems automation, data analytics, and dialer administration. Jason joined CMAX Finance as an Auditor and Analyst to refresh the company’s growing compliance needs and risk management strategies. He has subsequently been promoted to Director of IT where he manages and maintains the company’s infrastructure as well as continues to grow the company’s data warehousing and analytics capabilities.
Jason is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology: Applied Networking and Systems Administration
