Rusty Saylor, Chief Executive Officer
Formerly managing director and head of the education finance group in Citigroup’s Global Securitized Markets where he had credit authority for up to $18 billion of annual financing.
Prior to leaving Citigroup in 2010, served as a managing director for Scott-Balice, a Chicago based municipal finance advisor where he provided advisory and valuation services to several state agencies and colleges, including Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Texas, and also served as Co-Head of Structured Finance and Securitization for PNC Capital Markets and was a Vice President in Asset-Backed Finance at CS First Boston focusing broadly on all consumer loan assets classes.
Has an MBA from the Darden School of the University of Virginia, a MM with honors from the University of Southern California and is an Honors College graduate of Davidson College. He was also a Hesse Scholar for advanced postgraduate study in Great Britain.
James D. Sheldon, Executive Vice President of Finance
JD joins CMAX Finance following his role as CFO with a Real Estate and Collection law firm Dynia & Associates, LLC. At Dynia & Associates, JD managed financial aspects of the 80 employee firm. He and his team implemented policies and procedures for the collection division to ensure their Accounting team met all legal and contractual requirements of their clients. Specifically, compliance standards required by debt issuers, FDCPA, and the CFPB.
Prior to joining Dynia & Associates, JD spent 5 years working with the Accounting/Finance team for the country’s 3rd largest debt purchaser Equable Ascent Financial (EAF) and subsidiary collection arm Apex Financial. He managed the Payment Processing team, was responsible for the budgeting process for Apex and reporting the financials to the EAF executive team. He also led the EAF/Apex commercial valuation and recovery process; as well he assisted EAF’s Accounting/Finance team with Sarbanes Oxley compliance, Impairment analysis, and Treasury Management.
Prior to EAF/Apex, JD was an auditor for 5 years with Broniec & Associates. Broniec specialized in recovery auditing; JD was the audit manager for clients like United Airlines, John Deere, and AEGON USA.
